Who’s Behind Octopus Studio?
Hi, I'm Belinda.
I've spent my career bringing people together through events, hospitality and business support. Over the years, I've worked on more than 700 events, from intimate gatherings and community festivals to major tourism events internationally, in the city and regionally, including FIFA, the Melbourne Grand Prix, Melbourne Cup racing carnivals, weddings and local councils.
I also founded and operated an event staffing agency with more than 300 front-of-house staff, giving me a unique understanding of what it takes to deliver successful events and support the people behind them.
One thing has always stood out to me.
The people working the hardest are often the ones who miss the moments that matter most.
As an event organiser myself, I know what it's like to spend the day solving problems, supporting volunteers, answering questions and making sure everything runs smoothly. Then the event ends, and you realise you have very few photos of the atmosphere, your guests, your sponsors or the countless moments that made the day so special.
That's why I created Octopus Studio.
I want event organisers to stay present while I capture the moments they'll want to share, remember and use to promote future events. At the same time, I want to help small businesses feel less overwhelmed by sharing the practical knowledge I've gained through years of working across events, marketing and business support.
I don't claim to know everything, and I never will. I'm always learning, growing and finding better ways to support the people I work with. But I believe experience is most valuable when it's shared, and if I can help someone build better systems, tell their story or simply make their workload a little lighter, then I've achieved what I set out to do.
Octopus Studio exists because I genuinely care about the people behind the business. I've met incredible business owners, volunteers, event organisers and community leaders who have shaped my journey and reminded me that no one succeeds alone.
Whether I'm behind the camera, reviewing your online presence or helping streamline your business, my goal is always the same—to leave you in a better position than when we first met.
